I envision an innovative cultural center in Oaxaca that celebrates the rich artisanal tradition of black pottery, seamlessly blending architectural contemporaneity with the simple elegance of this technique. This multifunctional building would host art exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events, showcasing a style influenced by contemporary architects like Luis Barragán, while incorporating the characteristic earth tones and deep blacks of black pottery. Lighting would play with natural light to emphasize the craftsmanship, and the composition would employ construction techniques to recreate the burnished texture on both exterior and interior surfaces. Drawing inspiration from Zapotec culture, the design would integrate cultural motifs into the structure and decoration, creating a functional space that, beyond its utility, would be an artistic and cultural expression deeply rooted in Oaxaca’s unique identity. –v 6
