by 24designclub

83BANDS CLUB is a cocktail bar located in Shanghai’s bustling Dong Hu Road, designed by Jianhe Architectural Design. Inspired by the journey of the Greek god Dionysus, the bar’s space is designed to be an immersive experience, offering a sense of escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

83BANDS CLUB is a cocktail bar located in Shanghai’s bustling Dong Hu Road, designed by Jianhe Architectural Design. The bar boasts a minimalist design, inspired by the journey of the Greek god Dionysus. The spatial journey of the bar evokes the god’s path from the vineyard to his palace, offering a sense of escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The bar’s design is characterized by its sleek concrete facade and a series of arches that lead visitors through different spaces. The arches, reminiscent of a vineyard trellis, guide visitors through the space, creating a sense of journey and discovery. The space features a series of distinct areas, each designed to evoke a different aspect of Dionysus’s journey. The first area is a high-ceilinged entrance hall, with a large archway that acts as a symbolic portal, separating the outside world from the intimate ambiance within. This transition invites visitors to shed their worries and enter a realm of relaxation and indulgence.

The second space is a cozy lounge area with an abundance of natural light, reminiscent of a vineyard bathed in the golden hues of sunset. The space is adorned with plush sofas and chairs, inviting visitors to unwind and savor their drinks. This area creates a sense of tranquility and escape, providing a space for relaxation and socializing.
The third space is a more intimate and reflective area, with three mirrored walls and a projection screen. This space is designed to encourage introspection and self-reflection, reflecting the themes of introspection and self-discovery that are often associated with Dionysus. This space is an invitation to explore the nuances of self-perception and embrace the ambiguity of reality.
The fourth space is a vibrant and energetic dance floor, where guests can lose themselves in the rhythm of the music. This area embodies the celebratory and revelatory nature of Dionysus, representing a space for uninhibited expression and letting loose.
The final space is a secluded outdoor garden, designed for intimate gatherings and conversations. This area provides a retreat from the bustling energy of the dance floor, offering a quiet and serene space for conversations and reflections.
The bar’s design is further enhanced by the use of carefully curated lighting. All lighting is controlled by RGB systems, allowing the bar to adapt to different events and create a range of moods. The color palette ranges from warm sunset hues to vibrant blues and purples, reflecting the changing moods of the night.
The 83BANDS CLUB is a testament to the power of design to create immersive and evocative experiences. The bar’s design is a thoughtful and creative exploration of the ancient Greek god Dionysus and his journey from the vineyard to the palace. It’s a space that encourages relaxation, introspection, and celebration, offering a unique and unforgettable experience for its patrons.
