Dunnhumby European Headquarters Office/ColladoCollins/London, UK

The renovation of a historic warehouse in London, UK, transformed into a modern and functional office space.

The new design scheme for the Dunnhumby European Headquarters office, located in London, UK, encompasses over 115,000 square feet of office space across six floors. The goal was to create a distinctive, high-quality workspace using contemporary design elements. The former car showroom and warehouse provided the perfect setting for this transformation, with its high ceilings and ample natural light. ColladoCollins, the architectural firm responsible for the project, has a reputation for breathing new life into historic buildings, creating spaces that are both modern and respectful of the past. The architects worked closely with Dunnhumby to create a space that would be inspiring and functional for their employees. The result is a stunning office space that celebrates the building’s heritage while embracing the future.

The new design scheme for the Dunnhumby European Headquarters office in London, UK, encompasses over 115,000 square feet of office space across six floors. The goal was to create a distinctive, high-quality workspace using contemporary design elements.

The former car showroom and warehouse provided the perfect setting for this transformation, with its high ceilings and ample natural light. The old warehouse has been transformed into a 21st-century, stylish office space.

The geometric roof in the design scheme acts as an arched shell structure, allowing more light to enter the interior through the glass windows without compromising the building’s column-free structural integrity. Not only that, it also creates a cohesive shape with the surrounding buildings and balances the proportions of the existing building.
ColladoCollins believes that rebuilding and transforming old buildings into distinctive, stylish workplaces is a realm of re-creation and reconstruction. It provides an opportunity to seamlessly blend the old and the new, continuing history rather than just preserving it, and infusing new life into old buildings that have lost their luster. The result is exhilarating, and ColladoCollins’ design has been well-received not only by the local planning department and historic building conservation organizations but also by the market.
The building, which has been listed as a Grade II listed building, will be reborn as Dunnhumby’s new European headquarters on its centenary. Working closely with the incoming tenants, the architects and clients have been given the opportunity to reshape this important landmark, transforming it into the perfect place for innovation and development.
