The Azul Group has opened a new restaurant in Shanghai, Bhacus Wine & Wood Grill, showcasing a unique dining experience with wood-fired cuisine and an extensive wine selection. The 450-square-meter space designed by STUDIO DOHO is a testament to the group’s commitment to providing a captivating culinary journey. Bhacus features an open kitchen, a walk-in wine cellar, and private dining rooms, all crafted with a warm and inviting aesthetic. The restaurant boasts a large outdoor terrace, allowing guests to enjoy the vibrant Shanghai atmosphere.

STUDIO DOHO’s design concept focuses on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests, with the open kitchen and central grill serving as a vibrant focal point. The custom-designed tile flooring provides an upscale backdrop, while the combination of rough concrete pillars and wall lamps creates a rugged yet sophisticated feel. The bold red accents throughout the space connect the colors of wine and fire, further enhancing the overall ambiance.

The design also places emphasis on the integration of materials that complement the grill concept both in functionality and aesthetic. The open kitchen features a live fire grill, constructed using high-quality heat-resistant materials, capable of withstanding the high temperatures generated by the grill. Dry-aged meat is showcased in a specially designed display case, highlighting the natural textures and colors of the meat. Large circular lighting fixtures create an intimate environment, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Bhacus features a walk-in wine cellar, a prominent design element that allows diners to explore the extensive wine collection and select their preferred pairing. The wine cellar is designed with beautifully crafted glass walls, creating an immersive and captivating experience for wine enthusiasts. Private dining rooms provide a more secluded dining experience, ideal for special occasions or business gatherings.
Custom artwork adorning the main walls adds a touch of whimsy to Bhacus’s warm, elegant, and comfortable ambiance. The intricate wall art is closely connected to the vibrant culinary offerings and the Azul Group’s rich heritage.
