This 65㎡ boutique duplex apartment design in Cape Town, South Africa, is a testament to clever space planning and design. The apartment, originally a cramped space, was transformed into a modern, edgy, and characterful home. The designers brought the bustling atmosphere of Cape Town’s vibrant city into the 65㎡ duplex apartment, creating a dynamic space that floats above the city.
To maximize the lower level space, the kitchen is tucked away beneath a black steel staircase. The spacious lower level features an open plan living area that flows directly out to the terrace. To add some color to the space, modern African patterns are incorporated as decorative accents.
A glass bridge opposite the staircase adds an extra square footage to the upper level, forming a small book space.
The black bedroom hangs on the upper level, with an angled feature wall behind the bed separating it from the dressing area. The mostly black bathroom is a perfect expression of mood.
