Exploring the Fusion of Modern Aesthetics and Cultural Heritage in Hotel Interior Design

by 24designclub

Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua & Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel showcase modern aesthetics and local culture.

Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua: Embracing Jinan’s Rich Heritage

Jinan, known as the “City of Springs,” boasts a rich cultural heritage. Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua, located in the western Huaiyin New District, reflects this heritage in its design. The hotel’s concept, “a green stage in the city,” seamlessly blends nature into a modern architectural setting. The main entrance features a water feature wall, while the outdoor landscape lobby extends to a lawn and bamboo pavilion, creating a tranquil, garden-like atmosphere.

Interior Design as a Reflection of Jinan’s Spirit

The interior design of Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua is a tapestry of Jinan’s vibrant and serene spirit. The Sky Lobby on the 32nd floor offers panoramic city views. The Lobby Lounge provides a relaxing space with comfortable sofas and modern armchairs. The All Day Dining restaurant features an open kitchen and buffet, while the Cai Feng Xiao Guan Chinese restaurant offers private dining rooms with classic Chinese decor.

Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel: A Modern Interpretation of History

Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel, located in the heart of the Haidian District’s Dongsheng Science City, draws inspiration from the area’s history as a military and agricultural hub. The hotel’s design, by P49 Deesign and Gold Mantis, reinterprets ancient military life with a modern aesthetic. The lobby evokes a sense of triumph, with vertical multimedia displays symbolizing victory banners. The R bar draws inspiration from stables, featuring horse-related textures and equestrian-themed artwork.

Celebrating Dongsheng’s Past through Art and Design

Throughout the Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel, horse-themed artwork celebrates Dongsheng’s past. The Grand Ballroom and pre-function area are designed for large-scale events, while the Quanri Restaurant features vibrant colors and animal portraits, depicting scenes of military and agricultural life. The Chinese restaurant, inspired by an “armor camp,” blends modern and classical elements.

Innovative Construction Techniques and Exquisite Craftsmanship

Gold Mantis employed innovative screen construction techniques at Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua. For the 5500mm high wood veneer screens in the lobby and 32nd-floor lobby bar, they used a segmented installation strategy. For the 7000mm high stainless steel screen in the third-floor banquet hall, they optimized the design to simplify the modeling unit module, reducing the number of welding points. These techniques enhance the artistic and aesthetic appeal of the decor.

A Fusion of Modernity and Tradition in Hotel Design

Both Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua and Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel demonstrate the successful fusion of modern aesthetics and cultural heritage in hotel interior design. They offer guests a unique and immersive experience that reflects the spirit of their respective locations. These hotels stand as testaments to the power of design to celebrate both the past and the present.
