The HOTEL PARTICULIER, an Ottoman-style townhouse apartment in Paris, has been meticulously renovated by Wilmotte – Associés. Following the restoration, Joséphine Fossey office was tasked with creating a fresh interior design tailored for a family with young children. The project aimed to seamlessly integrate modern elements into the apartment’s grand, historical architecture.
Interior Design Philosophy
Joséphine Fossey, the creative force behind the project, drew inspiration from her Scandinavian heritage, favoring a minimalist yet warm aesthetic. Her approach involved modernizing the space while respecting the building’s Ottoman-style features. This careful balance resulted in an interior that exudes a sense of timeless elegance.
Material and Color Palette
A neutral beige color adorns the apartment’s walls, creating a soothing backdrop that complements the rich parquet floors. The children’s playroom stands out with a slightly darker hue, resembling a cozy, self-contained haven. Fossey’s material choices reflect an affinity for authenticity and natural textures. Stone, travertine, and oak are prominently featured throughout the apartment.
