Project Background and Concept

In the bustling city, envision a unique space that exudes the vibrancy of life while embracing artistic nuances. Goyoo Hall, a multifunctional living space designed for young adults, strives to cultivate a healthy and positive lifestyle. It emphasizes the importance of social connection and encourages a balance between privacy and shared experiences. ShangYuan Mixiu Interior Design broke away from traditional modern styles and embraced a cyberpunk aesthetic to create an atmosphere that seamlessly blends industrial ruggedness with the refined elegance of modern luxury. It incorporates elements favoured by the younger generation, reflecting their modern urban lifestyle and offering a space that embraces functionality and cutting-edge design.

Lobby and Multifunctional Lounge – Young Adult Social Hub

Entering the Goyoo Hall, one is greeted by a spacious and open reception area designed to facilitate a seamless and enjoyable experience for visitors. The lobby doubles as a social gathering point, where residents can easily connect and socialize. The space is designed to meet the needs of young adults who desire social interaction outside their homes, emphasizing the significance of communal areas for building a sense of community. During the day, it operates as a coffee shop, featuring a central open bar serving a variety of coffee and desserts. As evening sets in, the lighting transforms, creating a more intimate atmosphere, and the space seamlessly transitions into a bar where residents can unwind with cocktails and socialise. The space also incorporates private booths tucked away in corners or discreetly separated by metal mesh and plants, fostering both openness and intimacy. A billiards room sits opposite the conversation areas, serving as a space where individuals can connect and socialize, highlighting the ability of the space to cater to individuals and groups with different needs and preferences.

Fitness and Recreation Zone – A Hub for Active Living

The fitness and recreation zone at Goyoo Hall is dedicated to encouraging health and activity, providing a space for physical exercise and social engagement. The space includes running machines, table tennis, and strength training equipment, carefully chosen and strategically placed to meet diverse fitness preferences. The area promotes a vibrant social atmosphere through a range of amenities, including comfortable sofas, warm lighting, and a vintage arcade game area. It creates an environment where residents can socialize and relax after their workout sessions.

Knowledge Station – A Place for Intellectual Growth

Goyoo Hall also features a dedicated study space to cater to the needs of residents who are seeking a quiet and conducive environment for learning and intellectual engagement. The design carefully considers both communal and private learning requirements, ensuring a comfortable and productive setting for students and readers. The space offers a positive environment encouraging self-improvement and fostering a culture of knowledge acquisition. The library provides a diverse selection of books, creating a serene space where residents can cultivate knowledge and enhance their intellectual growth. The designers ensured that the area was separate from the public zones, creating a peaceful haven with acoustic materials and well-planned spatial design that helps minimize external disturbances. This allows readers to focus on their studies and fully immerse themselves in their learning journey.

Creative and Cultural Area – Community Building and Exploration

Goyoo Hall acknowledges the significance of connection within the community and its connection to wider culture and history. The space offers a self-service creative and cultural area encouraging the community to interact and socialise. This zone helps foster a deeper sense of belonging among residents and fosters the creation of a cultural community. It allows residents to explore their creativity and embrace the shared experience of culture. The area is designed to bring residents together, encourage community interaction and exploration, and enable individuals to discover and appreciate a more nuanced sense of the space and their surroundings.
