Located in the heart of Hangzhou’s Olympic Sports Center, the Century Guotai Center, a commercial project of Binjiang Group, offers a panoramic view of the city’s landmarks. The design aimed to create a modern, yet sophisticated residence, embodying the ‘old money’ aesthetic for the homeowner, situated within the bustling metropolis.
Design Concept and Goals
The core design concept was to achieve an atmosphere of understated luxury in the apartment. Sunshine Space implemented two distinct sofa layout options—an open layout with a contemporary feel and a classic layout featuring traditional sofas. The selection of furniture, with careful consideration of its shape, texture, and soft furnishings, complements the owner’s cultural taste and enhances the space.
Living Room Layout and Features
In the first scheme, a novel sofa design was integrated to diminish the visual impact of the backrests, thereby creating a seamless flow between the furniture and the surrounding environment. This concept highlights the expansive feeling of the open floor plan. The second approach incorporated a classic sofa design that is both functional and aesthetically appealing, emphasizing comfort and enduring style within the context of luxury interior design.
Dining and Kitchen Design
The dining and kitchen areas feature a neutral, vintage color scheme, with dark brown as the primary color and accents of black and cream. Natural materials like leather, metal, and pearlescent finishes add a vintage feel to the space, creating an environment reminiscent of a classic residence while emphasizing the luxury interior design details. The chosen palette ensures a balanced and harmonious ambiance within the open plan.
Bedroom Design
The bedroom design seamlessly blends modern simplicity with a sophisticated style. The color scheme and materials employed in the space create an exclusive and elegant golden-brown atmosphere, reflecting the luxury interior design aesthetic while remaining cohesive with the rest of the apartment.
