JCOO Transforms Ningbo Water Meter Group Exhibition Center into a Narrative Space of Time, Light, and Shadow with Exhibition Stand Design

by 24designclub

JCOO renovates Ningbo Water Meter Group Exhibition Center, creating an immersive narrative space that reflects the company’s history and future through innovative exhibition stand design.

Project Background

Ningbo Water Meter Group, a leading global provider of water metering and solutions, entrusted JCOO with the renovation of their exhibition center located on the first floor of their headquarters in Ningbo, China. Originally built in the 1950s, the Ningbo Water Meter Factory holds historical and emotional significance. The renovation aimed to honor this legacy while adapting the space to meet the company’s evolving needs. JCOO embraced the challenge of transforming the exhibition center into a “container of time,” showcasing the company’s journey and future aspirations through exhibition stand design.

Design Concept and Objectives

JCOO’s design concept centered around creating a narrative space that seamlessly integrates the past and present. By respecting the original architectural features and incorporating elements of industrial aesthetics, they sought to tell the story of Ningbo Water Meter Group’s growth and innovation. The design objectives included enhancing spatial flow, breaking down traditional exhibition formats, and establishing distinct zones for different aspects of the company’s history and future. Through the strategic use of light, shadow, and materials, JCOO aimed to create an immersive and engaging visitor experience with exhibition stand design.

Spatial Layout and Planning

The exhibition center is divided into two main zones: the pre-exhibition area and the core exhibition area. The pre-exhibition area serves as an introductory space, featuring symbolic installations and mirrored surfaces that interact with visitors and reflect the surrounding environment. The core exhibition area houses the historical evolution exhibition and the smart water exhibition, each with its unique design language. The historical evolution exhibition uses weathered steel plates and old red bricks to evoke the industrial architecture of the 1950s, while the smart water exhibition employs futuristic forms and interactive displays to showcase the company’s vision for the future. Exhibition stand design plays a pivotal role in defining and differentiating these zones.

Exterior Design and Aesthetics

The exterior design of the exhibition center retains the original building’s rectangular form while incorporating new elements that reflect the company’s brand identity. The entrance is marked by a series of illuminated panels that display the company’s logo and slogan. Large windows provide natural light and views of the surrounding landscape. The overall aesthetic is modern and minimalist, with a focus on clean lines and simple forms. Exhibition stand design seamlessly integrates into the overall aesthetic, adding visual interest and enhancing the visitor experience.

Technological Details and Sustainability

The exhibition center incorporates a range of advanced technologies, including interactive displays, multimedia presentations, and LED lighting. These technologies are used to enhance the visitor experience and provide information about the company’s products and services. JCOO also considered sustainability in the design, using energy-efficient lighting and materials wherever possible. The exhibition stands are designed to be modular and reusable, minimizing waste and promoting long-term sustainability.

Social and Cultural Impact

The Ningbo Water Meter Group Exhibition Center serves as a cultural hub for the company and the local community. It provides a space for visitors to learn about the history of water metering and the importance of water conservation. The exhibition center also hosts events and workshops, promoting education and awareness about water-related issues. The innovative exhibition stand designs contribute to the educational and engaging atmosphere of the center, leaving a lasting impact on visitors.

Economic Considerations

The renovation of the exhibition center was a significant investment for Ningbo Water Meter Group. However, the company expects the investment to generate a positive return by attracting new customers and partners. The exhibition center is expected to boost the company’s brand image and reputation, leading to increased sales and market share. The thoughtfully designed exhibition stands are crucial in showcasing the company’s products and solutions, ultimately contributing to their economic success.
