Fran Silvestre Arquitectos has designed a striking all-white residence that climbs a steep slope in a unique location. Named Casa Benávis, the home sits in La Zagaleta, a residential development near Marbella, on Spain’s southern Costa del Sol. To take advantage of the site’s topography, the main living areas are located on the upper level, supported by a single volume that is perpendicular to the slope. This vertical volume houses the home’s technical and service areas and allows access to the lower level, which features a terrace and a pool that extends into the garden. The basement houses a garage, a large storage room, a steam room and dressing room, and a bedroom. On the upper level, Fran Silvestre Arquitectos has oriented the living room and bedrooms to the southwest, taking advantage of the surrounding views with floor-to-ceiling windows and covered terraces. Meanwhile, on the other side of the house, a multi-purpose room and two offices are illuminated by natural light from the north. The four bedrooms, including the master suite, each have an adjoining private bathroom, situated in the center of the plan and illuminated by skylights. Known for his unique residential designs, Fran Silvestre recently completed an island villa overlooking the Mediterranean.
