KC Design Studio designed a small apartment in Taipei, Taiwan, for a client who wanted to have a space to entertain many friends. To achieve this, the private area was kept small, while the public living space was made the largest in the home. The main materials used in the design were concrete, paired with patterned hexagonal tiles and cedar wood. The kitchen tile rises from the floor of the island, a table extends from the island for dining. The living room and kitchen are an open plan with adaptable furniture that can be moved to accommodate various sizes if needed. The space design has three different heights to help define the space, the entrance height is kept low to draw your eye into the space with a higher ceiling height.
