The Runze Jinchengfu Sales Center harmoniously blends elements of Chinese gardens and landscape architecture with a modern aesthetic.

An Urban Oasis of Tranquility

Nestled within the bustling Financial City of Chengdu, the Runze Jinchengfu Sales Center stands as a testament to the transformative power of design. W.DESIGN, led by Wu Bin, sought to create a haven of peace amidst the urban clamor, drawing inspiration from the refined aesthetics of ancient Chinese literati and their harmonious relationship with nature. The project transcends the conventional boundaries of architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture, seamlessly weaving them together to craft an immersive experience that resonates with the spirit of Chengdu’s rich cultural heritage and its aspirations for the future.

A Journey Through Serene Spaces

The design narrative unfolds as a carefully choreographed sequence of spatial experiences, beginning with a transition hall that evokes the serenity of a bamboo forest. Sunlight filters through the bamboo screen, casting intricate shadows that dance across the floor, creating a sense of tranquility and contemplation. This space serves as a prelude to the main entrance, where a cascading fountain and the ethereal sculpture of a fish transforming into a dragon capture the essence of dynamic balance between stillness and movement, tradition and modernity. The sales area showcases the project’s vision with a meticulously crafted model, further emphasizing the integration of nature and design.

The Dialogue Between Inside and Out

The architectural language of the sales center draws heavily from the principles of traditional Chinese gardens, blurring the lines between interior and exterior spaces. Courtyards, art galleries, and walkways interconnect various functional zones, creating a sense of fluidity and visual harmony. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding landscape, transforming the ever-changing seasons into a living tapestry that adorns the interiors. Natural light permeates every corner, accentuating the clean lines and minimalist aesthetic of the spaces.

Crafting Intimate Experiences

The VIP rooms embody the essence of refined elegance and seclusion. Inspired by the undulating contours of mountain landscapes, the spaces are designed to evoke a sense of tranquility and introspection. Each room features bespoke ceramic panels that depict scenes from Xie Huan’s “Nine Elders of Mount Xiang,” a masterpiece of Chinese art, seamlessly integrating cultural narratives into the contemporary design language. Textured glass panels and carefully curated furnishings complement the overall ambiance, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury and timeless sophistication.

Materials and Craftsmanship

The Runze Jinchengfu Sales Center showcases a meticulous selection of materials and craftsmanship that celebrates both traditional and modern techniques. Custom-made ceramic panels, inspired by ancient Chinese pottery, adorn the walls, adding a touch of artistry and cultural depth. The use of faux-antique metal and luxurious stone, combined with subtle lighting, creates a harmonious blend of textures and tones. Bamboo, a symbol of resilience and elegance in Chinese culture, is used extensively throughout the project, adding a touch of natural warmth and sophistication.
