This exquisite Shanghai residence is a testament to the enduring appeal of Art Deco design. The project involved the renovation of a traditional old villa, transforming three separate units into a cohesive and stylish home. The architects, Jinghao Space Design, embraced the building’s unique characteristics, including its high ceilings and original steel windows, to create a sense of spaciousness and grandeur. 
The designers cleverly integrated the Art Deco style into the space by incorporating geometric patterns, sleek lines, and luxurious materials. For example, the entranceway features three “Roman columns” that seamlessly blend with the wall decor. These columns, crafted in a classic Art Deco style, also appear on the living room fireplace and the master bedroom door frame, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication throughout the home.
The home’s layout is equally impressive, with a flowing open plan design that connects the entrance, dining area, kitchen, balcony, and living room. This creates a sense of continuity and allows natural light to flood the space. The designers also made use of the villa’s high ceilings, incorporating a distinctive Art Deco ceiling design that adds a touch of drama and refinement.
The interior design features a curated selection of high-quality materials and furniture. This includes Cole & Son Ardmore wallpaper, Taiping carpets, and Dellbrook Chesterfield sofas, all of which contribute to the home’s luxurious and timeless aesthetic.
