Nadadora Design Studio has created a rotating armchair for Spanish brand Sancal, featuring a deep, concave seat inspired by the shell of a turtle. The Tortuga chair provides a comfortable cocoon for the body, with its hard exterior and soft interior. The seat is made of injection-molded polyurethane, covered with quilted memory foam, and softened to provide a soft touch. The Tortuga chair comes with a pouf and a table, serving as a comfortable and light addition to Sancal’s Futura series.
“The first idea was to do something very comfortable and yet visually light, not a heavy, bulky chair,” says Isaac PinÄ“ra, designer at Nadadora. “The inspiration came from a turtle, because we wanted something that would remind you of a shelter, and it’s very comfortable inside.” An oversized headrest can also be fitted to the top of the chair, and there are different colored fabrics available. The base features gray wood detailing that can be stained to blend in or contrast with the interior design.
Tortuga Chair is a unique and innovative armchair that combines comfort, style, and functionality. It is sure to be a popular choice for those looking for a comfortable and stylish addition to their home or office.
