The apartment, recently sold for $5.75 million, is a stunning example of Hadid’s design philosophy. With a sweeping ocean view, the 2,541-square-foot (236-square-meter) unit features curved corners, signature Hadid furnishings, and a sophisticated minimalist design.
Photographs of the late architect Zaha Hadid’s Miami Beach apartment, designed for herself, have surfaced after the property was recently sold for $5.75 million (£4.43 million). The southeast corner unit, spanning 2,541 square feet (236 square meters), overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and boasts a large balcony with sweeping views. Inside, typical Hadid hallmarks include curved corner openings separating the dining and lounge areas. Thresholds are highlighted with thick metal bands that form a ring from floor to ceiling.
On either side of this division, thin light strips form an array across the ceiling and continue into some of the other rooms. The apartment is furnished with several pieces designed by Hadid throughout her career, like the Liquid Glacial glass table with its rippled pattern and fluorescent yellow tones. A taller dining version and a lower coffee table sit opposite one another in the room.
The lounge features the architect’s Zephyr sofa for Cassina, while one bedroom has her Aria and Avia lamps for Slamp. The sleeping area is more subdued, decorated with minimalist furnishings and a bathroom lined with striped stone.
