Inteltion Office is a 170㎡ office renovation project for an international telecommunications consulting firm. The office, designed by Onion, focuses on employee well-being and fosters a collaborative work environment through unique exercise installations inspired by public park stretches in Bangkok. This innovative approach transforms the office into a space that encourages movement, interaction, and rejuvenation.

Inteltion Office, spanning 170 square meters, is an office renovation project designed by Onion for an international telecommunications consulting firm. The company employs 60 individuals, typically working at clients’ offices to maintain computer systems. Their presence at Inteltion’s office is primarily for client meetings, new employee interviews, and social gatherings. Onion’s design approach prioritizes employee well-being, addressing the concern of “office syndrome” through the integration of unique exercise installations.

Inspired by the stretching routines observed in public parks in Bangkok, Onion implemented a series of exercise installations that progress in difficulty, ranging from “Finger Walk” and “Arm Wheel” to the more challenging “Rotating Chair” and “Monkey Bar.” These installations are strategically positioned throughout the office, seamlessly blending into the overall design.

The office’s prominent feature is a continuous iron pipe structure that serves as the handrail at the entrance, supports seating and tables in the center, and forms the structure for the exercise area at the rear. Onion creatively repurposed existing water and electrical pipes as ceiling decorations, painting all the pipes in white. Additionally, spherical cabinet handles are incorporated as workout elements, strategically placed at a higher elevation than usual.
The office features a multi-functional conference table that can be transformed into a ping-pong table, complete with a ping-pong container lamp. An adjacent wall serves as a ping-pong score board. The file cabinets are mobile and can be rearranged into a platform with pillows, providing a space for employees to take a nap when they need a break. Onion even incorporated a large-scale version of the board game Othello for the office manager, placing the magnetic pieces on a designated iron wall in their private space.
Through its innovative design, Inteltion Office showcases Onion’s commitment to creating a stimulating and refreshing work environment that encourages activity and promotes employee well-being. The integration of exercise installations encourages movement and breaks the monotony of traditional office settings, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
