Nando’s Crawley restaurant renovation is a modern interpretation of the brand’s African heritage, featuring vibrant colors, traditional materials, and unique design elements. The project involved a complete interior makeover, including new seating, lighting, and wall finishes. This restaurant renovation is a testament to Nando’s commitment to providing a unique and engaging dining experience.
Nando’s, a popular Portuguese-style chicken chain that originated in South Africa in 1987, has collaborated with various designers to create a fresh look for their restaurants. The Crawley branch in West Sussex, UK, required a full renovation.
This project marked the first Nando’s to undergo a complete interior redesign, encompassing all finishes, seating, and spatial layout. The concept pays homage to the brand’s African roots while incorporating contemporary British design elements.
The interior design draws inspiration from traditional textiles and modern architecture, with woven patterns playing a central role. The tile patterns, lighting fixtures, bench shapes and fabrics, and ceiling and wall finishes all reference this idea. Bright colors are combined with neutral materials to create a cohesive and dynamic dining space.
