The design is accented by SRAM red, a color that reflects the company’s rich cycling culture and commitment to innovation.
SRAM, a renowned bicycle component manufacturer, has collaborated with Perkins + Will to design their new headquarters in Chicago’s dynamic Fulton Market District. The initial vision for the project emphasized creating a lively and engaging workspace for SRAM’s workforce, encompassing a variety of collaborative spaces. To bring this vision to life, Perkins + Will incorporated a 1/8-mile test track that meanders through the office, seamlessly connecting expansive open floor plan communities. This unique feature not only serves as a pathway for commuting and testing bicycles but also acts as a visual screen, dividing the bike track from the open office areas. The resulting design, infused with SRAM’s signature red, narrates the company’s dedication to innovation, its philanthropic endeavors, and its deeply ingrained cycling culture in a controlled and functional manner.
